Leadership Team

United Way of Northern New Jersey’s leadership team guides the organization’s work to improve lives for ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). We support these struggling households by having the greatest impact on the communities we serve in the areas of Education, Income, and Health.

This team ensures good stewardship of resources, accuracy of record keeping, and full and fair disclosure of all relevant information to our donors. Our organizational leaders are in the community every day inspiring our community members to Give, Advocate, and Volunteer. With these resources, United Way is able to lead community change and improve lives for ALICE and everyone in the region.

"I don't know what it is about me, maybe my white hair – that I've had since my 20s – but kids trust me; they confide in me and come to me with life's challenging questions.

I think it's because I have made it a point of caring about their problems and being there for them on a regular basis by showing up. For most of the past 40 years I have volunteered between 200 and 800 hours a year as a teacher, mentor, coach, and advisor to kids from middle school through college.  I do it because more than anything kids need good, dependable caring adults in their lives.  That's how I LIVE UNITED."
