Our Work » EDUCATION Keep Kids Safe Summary of Our Work Dial 1-877-NJABUSE to report suspected child abuse or neglect Keep Kids Safe is an initiative coordinated by United Way of Northern New Jersey to provide parents with resources for effective parenting and to increase community awareness on issues related to childhood abuse and neglect. Organized in Sussex County, the group is comprised of social service agencies committed to children’s welfare and development, along with community volunteers. The Keep Kids Safe Council has worked for several years sponsoring workshops for teachers, students, and parents and promoting methods to defuse violence and prevent neglect to keep kids safe at all ages. Keep Kids Safe Mission The mission of Keep Kids Safe is to create an environment that supports a safe, healthy childhood – to keep kids safe emotionally, socially, and physically. Keep Kids Safe goals are to: - Increase community awareness on issues related to childhood abuse and neglect.
- Provide parents, children, and those involved with children’s development with resources for effective parenting and to achieve healthy relationships.
- Bring together community partners committed to children’s welfare and development.
