Annual Fundraising Breakfast
For 10 years, United Way Women's Leadership Council has held a fundraising breakfast to support women in Somerset County who are working towards financial self-sufficiency. This event also raises community awareness about critical issues and needs affecting women living in our communities.
Since its inception, this event has raised close to $200,000. The Council works closely with various local nonprofit organizations to identify projects to support with these funds. The object is to make a long-term difference in the lives of women in need. Click here to download a list of projects we supported in 2011 through the funds raised at this breakfast.
United Way Women's Leadership Council Giving Circle
Women who belong to the Giving Circle donate at the United Way leadership level (an annual gift of $1,000 or more). They focus on helping women gain the skills and education necessary to secure a job that pays a family-sustaining wage and has opportunities for advancement. Members help shape the direction of the Council and determine the distribution of donated funds. By pledging money and time, these women truly make a difference by improving the well being of women in our community.
