United Way advocates for those in poverty and ALICE because we value all workers and their contributions to our community.
According to our data, 1.3 million households in New Jersey are struggling to afford the basics. With so many families facing instability, the stakes couldn’t be higher — for everyone.
The strength of our economy and community is at risk when ALICE lives paycheck to paycheck, one emergency from financial disaster. United Way is working toward a future where essential workers can afford to save for an emergency, access affordable, quality child care and have the opportunity to achieve their potential in the workplace.
