Learn What You Need To Know

ALICE families lack the resources necessary for financial stability, and are often unaware of programs and services that might help them turn the financial tide for themselves and their families. This leaves these families in the precarious position where one financial emergency could plunge them into poverty.

To give these families and our communities a better chance for economic success, United Way of Northern New Jersey works to bring financial literacy tools and information to community members that will guide them along their path toward financial stability.

ALICE   is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and represents the growing number of families who are unable to afford the basics of housing, food, child care, health care, technology, and transportation. These workers often struggle to keep their own households from financial ruin, while keeping our local economies running.
